Mask

Easy no-sew <green> mask

Please, first support the artists and crafters making custom super-cute masks. Because they are working hard and are often passing on some of the proceeds to worthy organizations!

BUT… If you need a quick easy-to-wear mask while the cute custom ones are in the laundry, try this no-sew version. I’m calling this green because you can recycle old t-shirts for this project. The knit fabric of a t-shirt has some stretch to it making the mask more comfortable. No sewing is required since the edges of knit fabric won’t fray. The only other thing you might need is a dab of hot glue here and there.

Disclaimer: Masks made as recommended here will not prevent any disease. Please be careful when using scissors and hot glue as they will cut and burn. Any fabric touching any exposed skin always carries the risk of irritation. Cindy Scott Artistry is not responsible for how you handle your art supplies, how you wear your mask, or if you get sick or too hot.

OK! Just a teeny bit more fine print:

The image shown here may not print to actual size. If you want to size it yourself, copy and paste the image to edit on your computer… the length of the fold line should be approx 5.25” and the distance from the fold line to the outer curved edge of the ear piece is approx 7.25”

OR >>> Drop your email below for a PDF sized to fit an 8.5” x 11” sheet of copy paper. Once you have it sized or have received the PDF by email:

  • Print on 8.5” x 11” paper

  • Cut the pattern out of paper

  • Lay your knit fabric t-shirt on a flat surface (countertop works great)

  • Create a single fold in your fabric t-shirt

  • Line up the fold line of the paper pattern with the fold line of the fabric

  • Cut the fabric according to the lines of the pattern

  • Try on your mask and make any adjustments as needed

  • Optional:

    • use the little dotted line “darts” on the pattern as a guideline to use a dot of hot glue or a couple sewn stitches making your mask more fitted under your chin and above your nose
